BILLY DAY. AKA and see "Newton's Jig." American, "Sand Jig" (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. This sand jig (a type of syncopated duple-time banjo tune similar to a schottische) was printed by James Buckley in his Violin Tunes as "Billy Day." However, in a later collection it appears as "Newton's Jig."
