YOUNG INVERCAULD'S STRATHSPEY. AKA and see "New Brig of Glasgow (The)." Scottish, Strathspey (cut time). G Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. "Young Invercauld's Strathspey" has been attributed to biography:Robert Petrie (1767-1830), born in Kirkmichael, Perthshire. However, John Glen recorded that he found the tune first published in Glasgow musician, composer, guitar teacher and bellringer biography:Joshua Campbell's (c. 1730-1801) Collection of the Newest and Best Reels and Minuets (1788) as "New Brig of Glasgow (The)."

Petrie also composed another 'Invercauld' strathspey, "Miss Farquharson of Invercauld's Strathspey (1)."
