SPRING IN THE VALLEY. American, Reel (cut or 4/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Composed in the mid-1970's by fiddler Tom McCreesh, who played with the Hotmud Family for several years. The band's leaders,Dave and Suzanne Edmundson, resided in Spring Valley, Ohio, and McCreesh's title may be a word-play on the town they lived in.
