SANDY BOTTOM. American (?), Reel (cut time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB. The title appears in a list of traditional Ozarks Mountains fiddle tunes compiled by musicologist/folklorist Vance Randolph, published in 1954. It may or may not be the tune recorded in 1929 by northern Michigan fiddler George R. Pariseau (in a medley with "Flowers of Edinburgh"). Pariseau had a large repertory of tunes and may have picked up this Mid-West tune as well; or it may be a different tune than Randolphs.
