TRIP TO LINCOLN. English, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody (with directions for a country dance) was first printed by London publisher Charles and Samuel Thompson in their 1765 country dance compendium of annual dance collections. It also appears in the 1786 music manuscript book of American flute player Henry Beck.
