SLEEPING ON A DOORSTEP. AKA and see "Humors of Winter (The)." American, Jig (6/8 time). G major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The composition "Sleeping on a Doorstep" is credited to 'Conn. Regan' in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883), who was perhaps a musician from the greater Boston area. Francis O'Neill printed a nearly identical version (there are some slight differences in the second strain) as "Humors of Winter (The)," collected from Patrick Mahoney.
