FIRST HOUSE IN/OF CONNAUGHT, THE. Irish, Reel. Ireland, Counties Roscommon, Kilkenny. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Flaherty): AABB (Allan's, Darley & McCall): AA'BB' (Harker/Rafferty). See also the related "Downing's Reel," "Timothy Downing," "Mama's Pet (1)," "Peata Mamaí}." The tune is favored by uilleann pipers.

Roscommon) [Flaherty]; set dance music recorded live at Na Píobairí Uilleann, mid-1980's [Taylor]; New Jersey flute player Mike Rafferty, born in Ballinakill, Co. Galway, in 1926 [Harker]; Sean O’Gorman, fiddler, “was taught by Lynch, a County Clare man, a teacher of dancing and fiddling in Co. Galway" [Hardebeck].
