KITTY COME DOWN TO LIMERICK. AKA and see "Follow Me Down to Limerick," "Jimmy Powers' Favorite," "Munster Gimlet," "Plumkum," "Will You Come Down to Limerick?" Irish, Slip Jig. G Major/Mixolydian: G Dorian (Kerr). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BCC'. Fiddler Jimmy Powers (whose name is attached to the tune as an alternate title) recorded the tune as "Follow Me Down to Limerick." The famed early 20th century Irish-American piper Patsy Twohey/Tuohey called the tune "Munster Gimlet."

Kitty come down, come down,
Kitty come down to Limerick.
I knew by the glint in her eye
That she wanted a touch of the gimlet!
