RAMSEY GRAND MARCH.   AKA and see  English, March (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC.  "Ramsey Grand March" is contained in the mid-19th century music manuscript collection of flute player William Killey of Jurby, Isle of Man. The tune is cognate with "March 1 St. Valentine" in William Winter's c. 1850 ms. collection, but both titles seem inconclusive. Killey researcher Ian Radcliffe points out the town of Ramsey, Isle of Man, is about seven miles distant from Killey's hometown of Jurby, and the title of the tune points to a local composition.
