ROVING BLADE, THE. Irish, Slip Jig (9/8 time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The first strain is similar to and perhaps cognate with the first strain of "Paddy O Finnerly." James Goodman researchers Hugh and Lisa Shields suggest a comparison with his "I wish I never saw you (4)."

Source for notated version : - the Rice-Walsh manuscript, a collection of music from the repertoire of Jeremiah Breen, a blind fiddler from North Kerry, notated by his student [O’Neill].
