CAIDIL MO GHAOIL (Sleep, Dearie, Sleep). AKA "Chadal ma Ghaoil," "Sleep My Love." Scottish, Slow Air (6/8 time). A Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The Gaelic title “Caidil mo Ghaoil” translates as ‘Sleep my love.’ This bagpipe tune is still used as a ‘taps’ signal call in Highland regiments. It was played as the closing tune for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
