DOUGHERTY'S JIG. American, Sand Jig (2/4 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. "Dougherty's Jig" was composed by blackface minstrel performer and composer George H. Coes, perhaps for a fellow minstrel dancer and singer, Hugh Dougherty (for whom see "annotation:Hugh Dougherty's Essence").
