DUNIQUAICH. Scottish, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. Composed by Carl Volti, born Archibald Milligan in Glasgow in 1849. Volti, a fiddler, composed many tunes found in the Kerr's collections and also published several tutors, albums of popular songs, national overtures, etc. (Nigel Gatherer). Duniquaich, from the Scots Gaelic Dun na Cuaich, is a 700 foot conical hill in Inveraray, Argyllshire, overlooking Loch Fyne, on which is a monument said to have been the site of an old square watchtower.
