GIGUE DU VIEUX FERMIER (Old Farmer's Jig, The). AKA and see "Liverpool Hornpipe (1)," "Reel des régates." French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Gigue de vieux fermier" is Montréal fiddler Joseph Allard's version of the venerable English tune "Liverpool Hornpipe (1)." Allard recorded another version of the tune for Victor the same year as "Reel des Régates" [1] .
