"Housekeeper's Fancy" was entered into the c. 1885 music manuscript collection of fiddler Francis Reynolds of Gaigue, Ballinamuck, County Longford. A similar version of the tune can be found in Book 3 (No. 245) of the large c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim fiddler and piper Stephen Grier under the title "Ellen O'Halloran."
