HOW DO YOU LIKE HER FOR YOUR WIFE. Irish, Air (2/4 time). B Flat Major (Stanford/Petrie): A Major (Howe, Joyce). Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. Joyce (1890) unfortunatle discarded the original words to the song as "not worth printing" and instead substituted a lyric written by his brother. Our loss. A note in Stanford/Petrie says "cf 'Cousin Frog' No. 647."

Source for notated version: (From the Irish collector) Mr. Joyce [Stanford/Petrie]; Joyce himself claims he learned the air in his youth from his father.

Printed sources: Howe (1000 Jigs and Reels), c. 1867; p. 29. Joyce (Ancient Irish Music), 1890; No. 35, p. 37. Stanford/Petrie (Complete Collection), 1905; No. 532, p. 134.
