JIG . Irish, Jig (6/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody was entered as an untitled jig in Book 3 of the c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim piper and musician Stephen Grier. Grier researchers Fr. John Quinn and Conor Ward find cognates with "Wandering Minstrel (The)," "Merry Maiden (The)," and "Jimmey's New Jig."
