MATT HAYES'S POLKA [2]. AKA - "Matt Hayes's Polka." AKA and see "Con Thadhgo's (2)," "Matt Teehan's Polka," "Matt Teahan's Polka." Irish, Polka. D Mixolydian/Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Cowdery): AABB (Mallinson). The melody (which internally switches back and forth between ionian/major and mixolydian modes) is based on a strain found in "Job of Journeywork (2)" and is related to "Tom Sullivan's."
