MICKIE MURPHY{'S JIG} (Port Mhicí Uí Mhurchú). AKA - "Kinloch of Kinloch (3)." Irish, Scottish; Single Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. The tune is a perhaps an islolate of the large and varied "Kinloch of Kinloch" tune family, distinctive by the cadential 3rd-to-5th interval (which in "Mickie Murphy" occurs in the second strain). See also other more-or-less realted tunes "Yellow John (1)" or "Seán Buidhe/Seán Buí." Scots/Irish variants include "Over the Water to Charlie" and "Kinloch of Kinloch (1)," "Kinloch of Kinloch (2)" and "Kinloch of Kinloch (4)."
