The reel appears as "Lady Kennedy's Reel" in the large mid-19th century music manuscript collection of Canon James Goodman (County Cork), and as "Stafford Dance (The)" in Book 2 of the c. 1883 music manuscript collection of fiddler and piper Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894).
