MISS FRANCES MURRAY'S REEL. Scottish, Reel."Miss Frances Murray's Reel" was composed by gamekeeper and fiddler-composer biography:John Crerar, named for the second daughter of James Murray, General Lord Glenlyon, and his wife Lady Emily Percy, Frances (b. 1821), perhaps composed in honor of her birth. Crerar was employed by the 4th Duke of Atholl, John Murray, and composed a number of tunes for family members and events. Frances was the duke's granddaughter.
