ORIGINAL GALLIC AIR, AN. Scottish, Slow Air (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Nathaniel Gow (1809) noted the air was "communicated by" Colonel David Stewart of Garth (for more on whom see "Annotation:Lieutenant Colonel David Stewart's Strathspey" and see also "Colonel David Stewart of Garth's Reel/General Stewart of Garth"). It was published earlier by Robert Petrie (Third Collection of Strathspey Reels, 1802, p. 6) as "Neil Ferguson Esq.'s Favorite Air/Tha Crodhaigh Mac Allan."
