ORIGINAL GALLIC AIR, AN. Scottish, Slow Air (3/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Nathaniel Gow (1809) noted the air was "communicated by" Colonel David Stewart of Garth (for more on whom see "Lieutenant Colonel David Stewart's Strathspey" and see also "Colonel David Stewart of Garth's Reel/General Stewart of Garth"). It was published earlier by Robert Petrie (Third Collection of Strathspey Reels, 1802, p. 6) as "Neil Ferguson Esq.'s Favorite Air/Tha Crodhaigh Mac Allan."
