REEL DES OIGNONS [1]. AKA and see "Quadrille St-Félicien," "Quadrille des Sans-cœur," "Reel des cinq demiards," "Reel St-Félicien." French-Canadian, Reel. G Major (Cuillerier, Joyal): D Major (Songer). Standard tuning (fiddle). ABB (Joyal): AABB (Songer): AA'BB' (Cuillerier). Recorded by Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard (1873-1947) in 1933, his second recording of the same tune that year, initially as "Reel des oignons" (Onion Reel). He also recorded it in March, 1933, under the title "Quadrille St-Félicien." Allard researcher Jean Duval suggests it may have been an Allard original.
