SANNY SPEIRS. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). G Major (‘A’ part) & E Minor (‘B’ part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. Composed by A.M. Volti, who may be a relative or perhaps another pseudonym for violinist and music teacher Carl Volti (1848-1919), whose original name was Archibald Milligan (1848-1919) who contributed a number of melodies to the Kerr collections. A. Maurice Volti is listed as a violin teacher working with Carl Volti at the same Glasgow business address, while Carl is listed as a "Composer of Music". Their names, however, are pseudonyms for their real last name was Milligan and they were Scottish by birth and both father and son were given the names Archibald. The 'Volti' name was adopted as a professional affectation (see Carl Volti for more). See also A.M. Volti's "Tailor Tartan (The)," "East Kilbride" and "West Kilbride."
