SCOTCH HUNT [2] (An Fiach Albanach). Irish, Reel. A Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Editor Jackie Small (CRÉ V) notes Breathnach’s reel is nowadays known as "Eel in the Sink (The)," and that the melody is a version of “Hills of Kesh (The).” Paul de Grae, however, says the “Eel in the Sink” (as printed by Bulmer and Sharpley) is much closer to “Hills of Kesh (The)” and “Blackthorn (2) (The),”/"Irishman's Blackthorn (The)" than to Breathnach’s tune. “Rover (4) (The)” AKA “Scotch Hunt (1)” is a variant of “Scotch Hunt [2].”
