SHANAHANS' RAMBLES. AKA - "O'Shanahan's Rambles," "Shanahan's Rambles." AKA and see "How Are You Kitty?," "Showman's Jig (The)," "Woodcock (1) (The)." Irish, Double Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was entered as an untitled jig into Book 3 of the large c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim piper and fiddler biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894). Francis O'Neill printed version as "Woodcock (1) (The)," and "How Are You Kitty?" in his Music of Ireland (1903), and as "Showman's Jig (The)" in his Waifs and Strays of Gaelic Melody (1922), from the music manuscript of County Kerry fiddler Jeremiah Breen.
