SMITH'S RAG. American, Country Rag (cut time). G Major ('A' and 'B' parts) & C Major ('C' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'C (Phillips). Composed by wikipedia:Fiddlin'_Arthur_Smith (1898-1971) who was originally from Bold Springs, Tennessee. He made his solo debut as a fiddler on the Grand Ole Opry in December, 1927. "Smith's Rag" was recorded by him in October, 1940 (released in 1941), with his band The Dixieliners, which had originally included the McGee Brothers along with Smith's daughter Lavonne who played the piano. It was a band name that Smith used over the years with various personnel, and, on the 1941 recording, the Dixieliners were Clyde Moody on guitar and Bill Westbrook on double bass.
