TAILOR TARTAN. Scottish, Reel (cut time). G Major (‘A’ part) & E Minor (‘B’ part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’. Composed by A.M. Volti, who may be a relative or perhaps another pseudonym for violinist and music teacher biography:Carl Volti (1848-1919), whose original name was Archibald Milligan (1848-1919) who contributed a number of melodies to the Kerr collections. "A. Maurice Volti" was a violin teacher who worked at the same Glasgow address as Carl Volti, but the nature of their relationship, or whether they are the same person, is not known. Volti penned a number of melodies that were printed in the Kerr’s collections, but also issued music tutors and popular collections on his own.
