TAKE ME TO THE LAND OF JAZZ. American, Song Air. Lowe Stokes (1898-1983) was a north Georgia fiddler who was a member of the famous Skillet Lickers but who also fronted his own bands and made recordings in his own name. The song was recorded by Stokes in 1928, fronting a band that included fellow fiddler Clayton McMichen, who sang on this tune with jazzy guitar licks by Perry Bechtel.
