TIDESWELL MORRIS PROCESSIONAL, THE. English, Morris Dance Tune (2/2 time). F Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Tideswell is a village 9 miles east of Buxton in Derbyshire, east Midlands. English folk song and folk dance collector Cecil Sharp had the tune from Mr. R.F.B. Hodgkinson (b. 1876), a Nottinghamshire antiquarian, who sent it along with the morris tune for Taddington village, nearby Tideswell. Later, in 1910, Sharp visited the morris events in the towns and recollected the tunes.
