"Tipsy Parson [2]" was composed in 1945 by Ralph Page (1903-1985, New Hampshire), the “dean of the contra dance callers,” and a seminal figure in New England traditional dance and music for 40 years (see www.izaak.unh.edu/nhltmd/pagehome.htm). It first appears in Page’s periodical Northern Junket, vol. 4, No. 2, 1954 (p. 21).
