TOM IS GONE TO THE FAIR. Irish, Hornpipe (whole time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Compare with the New Brunswick tune "Oscar's Hornpipe" AKA "Timber Tom." The tune is structurally similar and the first strains are somewhat distanced but cognate, while the second strains share less melodic correspondences but which are nevertheless similar in melodic contour.
