TOMBREACKACHIE'S STRATHSPEY. Scottish, Strathspey (whole time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by William Marshall (1748-1833). Tombreakachy is a farm in lower Glen Livet. Moyra Cowie (The Life and Times of William Marshall, 1999) says that people were often known by the names of their farms and that Marshall wrote in one of his letters that he had a great fondness for “Tombreakachy and old Croughly.”
