WEST KILBRIDE. Scottish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. A.M Volti is probably the son of biography:Carl Volti (1848-1919) who contributed some 35 melodies to the Kerr’s Merry Melodies collections. A companion tune is the strathspey “East Kilbride.” A. Maurice Volti is listed as a violin teacher working with Carl Volti at the same Glasgow business address, while Carl is listed as a "Composer of Music". Their names, however, are pseudonyms for their real last name was Milligan and they were Scottish by birth and both father and son were given the names Archibald. The 'Volti' name was adopted as a professional affectation (see biography:Carl Volti for more).

West Kilbride is in South Lanarkshire, directly south of the city of Glasgow.
