BISHOPSWOOD MARCH. Irish, March (4/4 time). D Major ('A' part) & A Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by fiddler and pianist Josephine Keegan (b. 1935), of Mullaghbawn, south County Armagh. Bishopswood is a place near Portarlington in the Midlands region of Ireland, near Keegan's father's birthplace. In her book she includes a c. 1900 photo of the Bishopswood Band, apparently a fife and drum marching band, perhaps a school band to judge from the age of the individuals in the picture.

Printed source: Keegan (The Keegan Tunes), 2002; p. 81.
