Composed by Ontario fiddler Graham Townsend, named for Waverley (note the second 'e' in the spelling), Ontario, located near Lake Huron. Peter Yarensky remarks that the tune is popular with French Canadian fiddlers in New England (e.g. Marcel Robidas, Simon St. Pierre).
