X:1 T:Lower Edge of Breathitt N:From the playing of Audley Cable (1909-1993, born Wolfe County, Ky., lived N:much of his life in Michigan) recorded in the field in 1985 by Bruce Greene, in Fla., N:where he had retired. N:In 1930 Cable lived with Ky. fiddler Darley Fulks in Muskegon, Michigan, where they N:worked in the oil fields (Cable was a tooldresser), but when they played together N:Fulks played the fiddle and Cable the guitar (interview tape by his neice, John Harrod N:collection Berea College JH-CT-080-A 28:00). N:Mr. Cadle practiced what Chris Goertzen calls "dwell notes" i.e. extra beats on the N:rest notes of the phrase.
