TRIP TO TUNBRIDGE, THE. AKA and see "Green Grow the Rushes O." English, Country Dance Tune or March (cut or 4/4 time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. This version of the the "Green Grow the Rushes O/Green Grow the Rashes" dates to c. 1793 when it was printed in London by Preston & Sons, music publishers. Tunbridge was a fashionable resort and spa throughout the 18th century (see note for "annotation:Tunbridge Beauties" for more).
